Spanish tapas recipe: San Jacobos

San Jacobos, a favourite Spanish tapas among children, are crispy ham and cheese snacks, delicious hot or cold.
Basic ingredients:

  • sliced ham
  • thinly sliced cheese
  • 1 egg beaten
  • olive oil
  • fine breadcrumbs
Steps to making Spanish San Jacobos:

 







 
 



 





 

 





 
 


1. Get a slice of ham and place a slice of cheese on top then roll these together dip in the beaten egg and then the breadcrumbs and place on a plate

2. When all the slices have been prepared fry in hot oil until golden

3. Place on kitchen paper to drain off excess oil before serving

 

Tips and Ideas:

  • The quantity of sliced ham and cheese depends on how many you want to make
  • You can also add sliced red pepper or thinly sliced aubergine on top of the cheese before coating in breadcrumbs and frying.
