Spanish dessert recipe: Chocolate cake

Basic ingredients:

 







 
 



 





 

 





 
 

  • 3 eggs
  • 300g flour
  • 150g sugar
  • 100g butter or margarine
  • 1 glass of milk
  • 100g cocoa powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
Steps to making Spanish Chocolate cake:

 

1. Sieve the flour and cocoa together into a large mixing bowl add the eggs followed by the rest of the ingredients

2. Mix all the ingredients together with a fork for 2 - 3 mins

3. Grease a baking tin with butter and pour the mixture into the tin

4. Place in a preheated oven (180 degrees) and bake for approx 25 - 30 mins

5. Remove the cake from the tin and leave to cool on a wire tray

 

Tips and ideas:

  • Delicious with melted chocolate poured on top and/or fresh whipped cream
  • To make coffee icing mix 100g icing sugar, 50g vegetable margarine and 1 - 2 tsp expresso coffee
  • Invite friends round and serve in the garden, with a crisp cool Spanish cava to make a delicious late afternoon treat.
