Spanish tapas recipe: Fried asparagus

Basic ingredients:

  • asparagus
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • salt
  • lemon juice
Steps to making Spanish fried asparagus:

 







 
 



 





 

 





 
 


1. Wash the asparagus and cut off the rough ends then cut into pieces about 8cms long

2. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over a medium heat and lightly fry the asparagus pieces for about 5 mins

3. When the asparagus pieces start to turn golden brown remove from the heat season with salt and squeeze some lemon juice over them

4. Place on a plate and serve

 

Tips and Ideas:

  • You can add some pieces of bacon or serrano ham to the asparagus just for the last couple of minutes
  • You can use coarse sea salt. Add once the asparagus are cooked rather than while you are cooking them.
