My alarm surprised me again this morning, I was in the middle of a dream. All my hair, which I had cut off about 6 weeks ago, had grown back. I do really miss it! For a minute I thought it was real. Anyway, downstairs again. David surprised me on the way down by already being awake. Apparently the smell of his mum´s coffee had woken him. So we all had breakfast together, Becky - poor thing - ate hers standing as the pizza she had had in the oven was a little too well cooked so she had to make the boys sandwiches in a rush. Amazing that none of us smelled it burning.
Becky took the boys to school today while I sat and did my weblog. At 11am I popped nextdoor to number 24 to have my 3rd spanish lesson, I learned about all different foods, body parts, house hold tasks and a few verbs (past and present tense!) Juan-Miguel is going to test me extensively tomorrow so if this blog is short it´s because I´m doing my homework!
At about 12.30 Julia and I went for a drive to take Danny´s bike to be fixed and to collect Becky´s. The bike is going to be my independent form of transport for getting to and from Ramon´s house, which is just a couple of km from where I am staying in "Tuna Street", along the beach.
I had lunch with Becky and Andreas today and as we sat we chatted about the weblog. Apparently it´s being read quite frequently - so hello to everyone out there! Becky and Andreas were saying that I need to be really critical of everything, when I find things difficult, things that I think England does better, how I feel about being in the family, whether I feel like I´m intruding on their space - or them on mine! And I´ll try to, but at the moment it´s fair to say that I feel hugely welcome, not in the way or cramped/suffocated. I don´t understand the spanish that is spoken in front of me but words stand out individually now rather than being a complete blur and there are a few words I understand. My biggest break through was last night when David pointed out "están rojo" (meaning the tomatoes) and I understood!!! (they were red)
When David got back from school we went swimming. Becky was planning to join us but work commitments got in the way, David was quite disappointed but Becky explained why and he was much better once he understood. To make it up to him we put on Finding Nemo and ate in front of it! The difficult part was turning it off part way through to get him to go to bed. We´ll probably finish it off tomorrow or at the weekend. Once Becky had put David to bed she headed back to work to try and sort out the crisis. I didn´t stay up long after that as I thought it was an ideal opportunity for me to catch up on some sleep.
