First full day...

Waking up in the morning was a bit odd. It took me a few seconds to realise where I was. So like I said before, I took the boys to school and then did the shopping with Julia. After that I came back and started my weblog. I spent most of the early afternoon reading as the boys were at school and everyone else was occupied. Becky and I had lunch, delicious european style salad (I´m talking oil and vinegar dressing...very typical of mainland Europe and so much better than a dollop of mayo!). Anyway, then we picked the boys up from school and I met Ramon and his parents. His mother owns a shop and I´m going to be looking after him in the evenings while she works. So today was my opportunity to meet Ramon and see how we were going to get along. Ramon speaks English as he´s at the European school but is often a little shy to speak it.

So home I went with Ramon, I spoke mainly to his parents in the car but when we got in Ramon and his mum gave me a tour of the apartment and we sorted out a snack for me and Ramon. Then he showed me a new computer game of his and was keen to tell me all about it. Then we took a trip down to the pool and he went crazy! He´s like a fish and a frog all in one. With his little blue goggles on he took great delight in showing me how far he could swim underwater and how far into the pool he could jump! I was supposed to be leaving at 6.30 but it was gone 7pm by the time I got into the car to go home. A successful first meeting you could say.

Once I got back home I entertained the boys until dinner was ready. Then David went to bed, I read to him tonight - at his request! After that I watched a film (in English!) with Danny. By 11pm both of us were ready for bed!
