House sales in Spain up by 16%

According to the latest figures released by the National Institute for Statistics (INE) house sales went up by 16.4% in July this year compared to July 2009 which means that house sales have increased for seven consecutive months.

The biggest increase in sales (51%) was for new housing although sales in used housing accounted for 48.5% which means that sales in used housing increased by 16.8% compared to the same month last year while sales in new housing increased by 16%.
