Temperatures rising at last in Spain

Temperatures in parts of Spain to soar above 30ºC today

According to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) temperatures are set to rise above 30ºC in parts of Spain today. It is forecast that temperatures will reach 32ºC in Ourense and 31ºC in Cordoba, Seville and Badajoz. In addition the province of Cadiz has been put on alert for adverse coastal conditions.

The hottest provinces today will be Almeria, Caceres, Ciudad Real, Granada, Jaen, Salamanca, Toledo and Zamora where temperatures are expected to reach 29ºC while more moderate temperatures are forecast for Ceuta (20ºC), Barcelona and Melilla (22ºC) and A Coruña (23ºC).

Tomorrow temperatures will rise moderately in north-eastern parts of the country and fall slightly in the southern half of the Peninsula with temperatures remaining more or less the same in the rest of Spain. Nocturnal temperatures are forecast to rise moderately in the southern half of Spain and the Balearic Islands with little change elsewhere.

According to the spokesperson for AEMET, Ángel Rivera, the current meteorological conditions will remain the same until at least Thursday or Friday. However cloudier weather with showers is forecast for the weekend especially in north-eastern parts of the Peninsula.
