Spanish hotels busier than last year

According to the latest figures published by the Spanish National Statistics Institute (INE) hotel occupation increased by 8.9% this July compared to the same month last year reaching 38 million while prices increased by just 0.6%.

These figures, which were published yesterday, are a correction of figures published earlier this week which stated that hotel occupation had increased by 7.7%.

The National Statistics Institute also corrected figures for hotel occupation in the Canary Islands which it now says was 76.6% this July rather than the slightly lower figure of 73.8% also published earlier this week.
