Nobel Prize Winner to speak at SHA Wellness Clinic

The Nobel Prize Winner Professor Luc Montagnier will be offering a talk about Nutrition and Prevention of Chronic Disease in the prestigious SHA Wellness Clinic in Albir, Costa Blanca on Friday 10th June.

Professor Luc Montagnier is a Virologist and  led the team which first isolated the Human Immunodeficiency Virus /HIV1) in 1983 and brought the first evidence that this virus was the causative agent of AIDS. In 1985 he also isolated the second AIDS virus, HIV2, from West African patients. He received the Nobel Prize in Medicine (2008) and Prince Asturias Prize (2000) for his discovery of the HIV virus.

Montagnier is the co-founder of the World Foundation for AIDS Research and Prevention and co-directs the Program for International Viral Collaboration. He is also President of the World Foundation for Medical Research and Prevention.

Besides his involvement in the design of new types of HIV vaccines, his current studies are aiming at the diagnosis and treatment of microbial and viral factors associated with cancers, neurodegenerative and articular diseases, using innovative technologies. As a strong advocate of preventive medicine, he is especially concerned with prolonging the active life of aging people.

In 2009 he self-published two landmark research studies which, if true, would be the most significant experiments performed in the past 90 years, demanding re-evaluation of the whole conceptual framework of modern chemistry.

The research was applauded by experts in Homeopathic Medicine worldwide.

Beyond his scientific interest is his deep involvement with helping developing countries to acquire knowledge of and access to modern medicine and preventive medicine. As President of the World Foundation for Aids Research and Prevention, he has co-founded two Centers – in Ivory Coast and Cameroon -for the prevention, treatment, research and diagnosis of AIDS patients.

The Sha Wellness Clinic was last year voted the World’s best medical spa.

It is a world-pioneering centre of health and wellness where the focus is on improving people’s health and well-being through the fusion of the best natural therapies, mainly originated from millenarian Eastern wisdom, a macrobiotic diet and life philosophy and the most advanced Western techniques in the World.

Prof. Montagnier’s presentation is called: «Antioxidant and Anti-infective Factors in the Prevention of Chronic Illnesses» and is due to start at 17.30. The lecture will be followed by a cocktail for all guests in SHA’s roof terrace.
