Michelle Obama’s itinerary in Spain

On Wednesday Michelle Obama visited the old town of Marbella accompanied by her daughter Sasha and a small group of friends just seven hours after arriving at the luxury hotel of Benahavís (Málaga) following a long journey.

The vehicles carrying Michelle Obama, her daughter and friends left the hotel complex at 18.30 hours and on arrival the group walked around the streets of the old town. One of the first stops was at a glass bead shop located close to the town hall.

Before the visit the mayor of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz had discussed the security arrangements for the president of the United State’s wife visit to the city with the police. It is expected that Michelle Obama will dine in a local restaurant.

In order to reach the centre of Marbella the motorcade carrying Michelle Obama, her daughter and friends used the motorway passing under the welcome arch to the city followed by the Ricardo Soriano avenue with accompanied by an overhead helicopter all the way.

In addition, security cordons have been established on numerous streets of the city by local and national police.

Yesterday Michelle Obama and her daughter visited the city of Granada where they visited the major cultural attractions which included the cathedral and the Alhambra as well as the Albaicin and Sacromonte.

Michelle Obama will remain in Spain until the 8th August. Before leaving Spain it is expected that she will meet with the King and Queen of Spain who usually take their summer holidays in Majorca.
