Ferran Adria’s restaurant in Barcelona: 41º

The 41º Cocktail bar gets its name from its location on the famous ‘Avenida del Paralel’ in Barceona where the 41º22’34» parallel north line passes through. It is in the fashionable Parallel neighbourhood which is home to many of Barcelona’s theatres.

The idea behind this new project comes from the Adria brothers, Ferrán and Albert and run as a joint project with the Iglesias brothers (Pedro, Borjam and Juan Carlos). The bar offers cuisine based on a menu consisting of snacks and offers people who did not have the chance to visit the famous el Bulli restaurant the opportunity to sample some excellent dishes at a very reasonable price. On its website 41º is described as ‘a classic cocktail bar with an exciting gastronomic offer full of creativity with no limits for imagination.»

41º (41 degrees) is quite small and seats just 35 people. It offers diners some of the dishes which were available at el Bulli but this time in the format of snacks. The bar does not take reservations although clients can contact 41º either by phone (932 924 250) or by email: info@41grados.

It is difficult to categorize this new venture by Ferran Adria you could call it a cocktail bar with snacks, a gastrobar or a tapas bar.

Tickets is a tapas bar which is located next to 41º and you can go from one to the other once inside. This bar, which is due to open next March, will serve tapas and accept reservations. Once open it will have the capacity for 50 people. Expect to pay around 50 euros per head for 41º. Opening times are Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm to 2am.
