Rain, wind and snow forecast for parts of Spain this week <\/p>\n
Today 27 provinces in north-eastern parts of Spain have been put on medium alert due to the threat of heavy rain, strong winds and rough seas. The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has also forecast a sharp drop in temperatures throughout the country. <\/p>\n
Albacete, Cuenca and Castellon have been placed on medium alert today due to the risk of strong winds while Majorca has been placed on alert due to the risk of heavy rainfall. Strong winds have also been forecast for Aragon, Ciudad Real, Guadalajara, Toledo, Gerona, Tarragona, Madrid, Navarra, Majorca, Menorca and La Rioja all of which are on medium alert.<\/p>\n
Guipuzcoa, Vizcaya, Menorca, Gerona, Asturias and Cantabria have all been placed on medium alert due to the risk of heavy rainfall while Burgos, Leon, Palencia, Soria, Cantabria, Huesca, Lleida, Navarra and Asturias are on medium alert due to the threat of snow. <\/p>\n
Adverse coastal conditions have been forecast for the following areas provinces Vizcaya, Guipuzcoa, Melilla, Menorca, Majorca, Cantabria and Gerona all of which are on medium alert. <\/p>\n
Very heavy localized rainfall has been forecast for Catalonia and the Balearic Islands today and snowfall has been forecast for Cantabria and the Pyrenees above 800 metres. Strong winds have been forecast for north-eastern parts of the Peninsula as well as Mellila and the Balearic Islands. <\/p>\n
Temperatures throughout Spain and in the Balearic Islands are forecast to fall moderately. No change in temperature has been forecast for the Canary Islands. <\/p>\n
The spokesperson for AEMET, \u00c1ngel Rivera, has predicted that temperatures will return to normal by the weekend – maximum temperatures of 18\u00baC have been forecast in Castilla y Le\u00f3n, 21\u00baC in central areas and parts of Aragon, 22\u00baC to 23\u00baC in southern parts of the country and in some parts of Andalucia temperatures are expected to reach between 24\u00baC to 25\u00baC.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
