Three out of every four Spaniards against raising age of retirement<\/p>\n
According to a recent survey three out of every four Spanish citizens are against the government\u2019s proposals to raise the age of retirement to 67 years old. In addition those questioned for the survey also believed that the government should negotiate with the unions over the reforms to labour laws. The survey also discovered that most Spaniards believe that the general strike was a failure and was damaging for the major trade unions, the government and also the opposition. Only 30% of those questioned supported the general strike on 29th September. <\/p>\n
Those questioned were also less optimistic about Spain\u2019s economy and the end of the recession with 56% saying there were optimistic (10 points less than one month ago) compared to 39% who said they were pessimistic. <\/p>\n
Most people questioned said that Zapatero should make changes to the present government. The survey also found that just 17% of people questioned were in favour of Francisco Camps as the PP candidate for president of Valencia and believe that Rajoy is wrong to give his support to Camps. <\/p>\n
When questioned over the funding of the pope\u2019s forthcoming visit to Spain 75% of those included in the survey reject the idea that the state should pay the costs of the visit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
