This restaurant is
located within the Hesperia
Hotel in Madrid, in
the paseo de la Castellana,
near la plaza Gregorio
Marañón.
It is a large restaurant
with minimalist decor.
Etiquette, like other
classic restaurants
in Madrid (Jockey,
Horcher)
requires formal dress
(jacket and tie) and
is very strict about
this. When we booked
a table in the Santceloni
Restaurant from the
reception at the Hesperia
Hotel, someone from
the restaurant rang
our room an hour before
we were due to go to
remind us that sports
shoes, jeans or shorts
were not permitted.
The chef Oscar Velasco
(with experience working
in Zalacaín,
Martín
Berasategui and
Santi Santamaría),
is in charge of one
of the best known and
praised kitchens in
Madrid producing up
to date innovative and
creative cuisine. Exquisite
dishes prepared almost
to perfection have won
this restaurant 2 well
deserved Michelin stars.
The menu has just 21
options to choose from
including starters and
main courses. The restaurant
gives particular attention
to 'flavour, preparation
and details'.
Professional, discreet
and efficient table
service directed by
Abel Valverde. Large
wine cellar with a selection
of some of the best
wines in spain chosen
by David Robledo.
