La Dorada, Madrid. Some of Spain's best fish restaurants are in
Madrid and La Dorada is one of them. We highly recommend this large restaurant,
ideal for big groups - they even have reserved sections called "cabins"
for groups wanting a little more privacy. Very popular with local madrileños,
business people during the week and families at weekends. The restaurant owes
its fine reputation to excellent fresh produce, reasonable prices and quick, friendly
service. We especially recommend the Fritura Malagueña (fried fish Malaga-style),
Ensalada de Bogavante (lobster salad) and Dorada a la Sal or Lubina a la Sal,
(bream or seabass baked in salt) and any of the shellfish. Waiters will be happy
to advise you. The house white wines are good value and served nice and chilled.
Deserts are delicious and little biscuits and chocolates are served with coffee.
The restaurant is child-friendly, especially at weekends. It also has the advantage
of opening at eight in the evening for clients who prefer to dine relatively early
by Spanish standards. Reservations: 915 702 004. La Dorada, Orense 64, Madrid. | | Restaurante
Las Rejas Las Pedroñeras. A charming restaurant in a small
Spanish village, , in the Province of Cuenca.
It is only 20 minutes from the NIII motorway linking Southern Spain to Madrid.
Excellent food, innovative cuisine, outstanding winelist. We recommend the "menu
de desgustación" which is made up of 8 or 9 small tastes of some of
the most exquisite dishes you are ever likely to try in Spain. Chef and owner
Manuel de la Osa creates unique dishes using traditional local ingredients (manchego
cheese, garlic, manchego gazpacho....). The restaurant is decorated with works
of local artists and in the winter has a lovely big fire burning in the main dining
area. On our last visit the menu was rather over-dominated by shellfish, but that
may have been because it was the week after Christmas and Spaniards do tend to
overdo shellfish at that time of year. Reservations: 967 161 089, informacion@lasrejas.net.
Open Tuesdays-Saturday for lunch and dinner, and on Sundays for lunch. Average
price per person - 90 Euros. | | Restaurante
Reads, Mallorca. Luxury restaurant, considered by some to Mallorca´s
best. Rated No.1 in the Veuve Cliquot Top Ten Luxury Restaurants, Marcellinos

Service of the Year 2003" Al Punto Gastronomic Guide. Outstanding ambience
and food. Reservations: 971 140 261, readshotel@readshotel.com. Open every day

Restaurante
Casa Juan, Tenerife. 20 years ago Rosemarie and Hans Frind started
smoking fishes in their house and they founded the only restaurant in Tenerife
where the fishes are homesmoked. Modern creative cooking combine with traditional
recipes learned from parents and grandparents. Closed on Sunday and Monday.

Al Zaraq. One of Spain's best Arab restaurant near Calpe and Benissa.
Exquisite Lebanese and Palastinian dishes served in elegant and exotic surroundings
with spectacular views over one of the most attractive areas of the Costa Blanca.
The restaurant offers several menus which vary in price. We recommend all of them!!
Choose the house starters to savour delicious tastes of incredible Arab delights
created by Abdo Muhsen followed by one of his exquisite lamb dishes as a main
course (we recommend lamb with dates). And then the house deserts.... - a mouth-watering
selection of sweets made with almonds and honey and served with sweet, spicey
tea. Highly recommended. Reservations: 96 573 16 15 | | Restaurante
Juanito (Baeza, Jaén). This is one of Spain's most famous
restaurants, set in the village of Baeza
in the heart of Jáen. Juanito and his wife Luisa started this restaurante
fifty years ago, and have used their skill and experience to create memorable
dishes, using local produce (especially olive oil and game), an impressive wine
list and wonderful deserts. We suggest that customers ask what they are advised
to eat, as seasonal changes are introduced into the menu. Reservations: 953 740
