SPANISH DESSERT RECIPE:

Iced lemonade
This delicious drink is called "limon granizado" in Spanish and is particularly popular in the region of Valencia and along the Costa Blanca.

Basic ingredients

  • 1/2 litre of water

 

  • 150g sugar
  • 6 lemons

Steps:

1. Wash and grate the rind of 1 of the lemons

2. Place the grated lemon grind, water and sugar in a pan and heat slowly for about 10 mins remove from the heat and set a side to cool

3. Squeeze the 6 lemons and sieve the juice into a separate container

4. Sieve the cooled water, sugar and lemon rind and mix with the lemon juice and place in a container for freezing and place in the freezer

5. Remove from the freezer and stir - repeat this process several times

6. When it´s almost frozen but not solid serve in tall glasses with a straw

Tips and Ideas:

  • Very refreshing on hot summer days. Decorate with a sprig of mint on top.
  • Slosh in a bit of Spanish cava to make a delicious tangy Summer cocktail
