SPANISH DESSERT RECIPE:

Cappuchino cake

 

Spanish recipes

Basic ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 230g flour
  • 230g sugar
  • 230g margarine
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp strong black coffee

Steps:

1. Sieve the flour into a large mixing bowl add the eggs followed by the rest of the ingredients

2. Mix all the ingredients together with a fork for 2 - 3 mins

3. Grease a baking tin with butter and pour the mixture into the tin

4. Place in a preheated oven (180 degrees) and bake for approx 25 - 30 mins

5. Remove the cake from the tin and leave to cool on a wire tray

 


Tips and ideas:

  • To make coffee icing mix 100g icing sugar, 50g vegetable margarine and 1 - 2 tsp expresso coffee (to make plain icing just leave out the coffee)
  • Decorate with finely grated dark chocolate
  • Serve with whipped cream and a sweet Spanish desert wine.
