The average price per m2 of a house in Spain is 1,458 euros but the price of property in Spain varies according to the region.

The table below shows the comparative price of property (not of land and not of brand new houses) in Spain's 10 most popular provinces based on property valuations carried out this year all over Spain by TINSA, Spain's largest property valuation company whose quarterly and yearly reports are often quoted by the Spanish media and used for articles related to the Spanish property prices.

The most expensive provinces at the moment in Spain are Malaga and Cadiz. The Costa del Sol is still very much in demand with property buyers from abroad because despite higher prices, these two popular provinces offer the best property revaluation prospects (29% and 24% respectively) in Spain. However in 2005 this trend has changed, and some experts claim that property prices in Costa del Sol may have reached their peak.

Meanwhile, the average price of property in Spain's Costa Blanca (where small coastal towns like Javea, Moraira, Altea, Denia, Benissa... have large areas of holiday villas occupied by foreign residents), is actually just below the average price of property in Spain.
